Harbour Falls (A Harbour Falls Mystery, #1) - S.R. Grey I have wanted to read this book for a very long time. It looked like the perfect book for me. Mystery and a steamy romance, based on the shelves and the reviews. It wasn't the perfect book for me. I am very disappointed by it. I really did enjoy the mystery but the romance side of this book was not steamy and well, I just didn't get it. I didn't get it at all. I felt zero connection between Maddy and Adam, and I mean zero. I didn't even really like Maddy or Adam. Maddy was no Jessica Fletcher and Adam was no alpha male. I have no idea how this got labeled as steamy, it was well over 80% in to the book before they even did it! I think there are even some who shelved it as erotica and I don't know what that even means. And no, it was not a book filled with page after page of foreplay, I never once felt the need to scream just do it already! I am not a fan of leaving bad reviews or being mean so I will not go any further with my whys. So, that said, yes, I will read the next book because yes, the mystery is good and the epilogue just upped it from good to almost great. I think this author has great potential in writing mysteries and should maybe focus more attention there. The romance side of the book just needs some feeling and character building, this was a case of insta-love that just didn't work.
