Knight & Play (Knight, #1) - Kitty French Review updated and added below the beautiful songThis song played in my head the entire time I read this book. The entire time. I don't even know if it makes complete sense for this book but it just was fitting to me. I freaking LOVED THIS BOOK. I mean, loved it. I have a ton to say about it and wrote most of my review already but that ending...that fucking ending...I gotta start the next one now. So, I just leave you with this song. All along it was a feverA cold sweat hot-headed believerI threw my hands in the air I said show me somethingHe said, if you dare come a little closerRound and around and around and around we goOhhh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you knowNot really sure how to feel about itSomething in the way you moveMakes me feel like I can't live without youIt takes me all the wayI want you to stayIt's not much of a life you're livingIt's not just something you take, it's givenRound and around and around and around we goOhhh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you knowNot really sure how to feel about itSomething in the way you moveMakes me feel like I can't live without youIt takes me all the wayI want you to stayOhhh the reason I hold onOhhh cause I need this hole goneFunny you're the broken one but i'm the only one who needed savingCause when you never see the lights it's hard to know which one of us is cavingNot really sure how to feel about itSomething in the way you moveMakes me feel like I can't live without youIt takes me all the wayI want you to stay, stayI want you to stay, ohhhOh. My. God. That was so freaking hot, it didn’t melt my panties, it melted ME! Holy shit. Yeah, again, Oh. My. God. This was not a book I should have read on public transportation or at work but I could not stop reading it. What a fucking ride. I have no idea how the author was able to write those scenes without the paper catching on fire. Wow! Anyway…it seems a lot of people loved the heat but didn’t like the lack of story? I didn’t see a lack of story. I actually liked that the time that was offered was used for exactly what was offered. There wasn’t all the freaking drama of I am falling for him, I need to know his secrets etc. The time offered was utilized very, very well and utilized exactly how it was supposed to be. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the cheating aspect of this book but I LOVE how we got an inside scoop on that and once I knew what I knew I was kind of like whatever. Go for it. It probably wasn’t right but seriously, two freaking years? Yeah, get after that shit I say. Now, once we hit about the 80% mark we could see a swing in where this was going. I found it perfect timing for that swing. This was two consenting adults doing exactly what they set out to do and doing it well. What happens toward the end is kind if inevitable and I welcomed it. There was no question that the time would come to an end and real life would have to happen. There was no question that there had to be some drama. Knock, knock Lucien…Boy, was that a cliffhanger. I am so glad I waited to read this book when the sequel was out, I don’t know how I would have survived if I hadn’t. This book was the best spin on the super rich, alpha playboy I have read yet. He was everything I love about that type of character but more. How he was more when the main element of possessive was missing I will never know. Maybe it’s because there wasn’t the drama so we didn’t have to deal with the possessive but I did not miss it. I loved that it was just the two of them and not all the angsty drama. I loved that the connection was built on truth of what they were doing and we just got to watch the magical connection between these two people, one we thought completely broken and the other completely strong…maybe…If you are looking for a well written, super freaking hot book with very little drama but a story (at least I think there was a story) between two people who need fixing or eye opening you should read this right away but have the sequel ready!
